Isn’t it great to live in California? We have our own songs about our Girls, and a Randy Newman song about our big sprawling So Cal metropolis, LA.
And on this recently compiled list from Movoto Real Estate’s own Randy, California boasts 6 of their top 11 Richest Small Cities, with 2 right here in our own LA South Bay:
Redondo Beach received their best ranking for “Distance to nearest yacht club.” Oh my!
Rancho Palos Verdes came in #9, the “best in class” rankings for Country Clubs and Really Expensive Fine Dining.
But despite Redondo Beach’s overall 4th place ranking, “Redondo Beach actually has the lowest median household income in our top 10: “only” $98,816 annually. The median home value here in 2010 was $720,500. In addition for placing first in terms of yacht club distance, Redondo Beach was fourth overall for both high-end clothing retailers per capita and distance to private jet facilities. We’re guessing, though, that at least one yacht there probably has its own helipad.”
“Rancho Palos Verdes is home to some of the Los Angeles area’s most prime seaside real estate. That explains its median home value of $973,900 in 2010, but its median household income of $119,778 is also sky-high.”
“What the heck?” you ask? This was the critiera:
